5- Day Municipal By-Law Enforcement Noise Training Course

Enforcing noise by-laws requires a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, noise measurement techniques, and legal enforcement procedures. Our 5-day in-person, or virtual Municipal by-Law Enforcement Noise Training Course equips by-law officers, municipal staff, and enforcement personnel with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively understand, investigate, and resolve noise complaints.

Participants will learn about MECP noise guidelines, by-law interpretation and enforcement, municipal noise regulations, field measurement techniques, and evidence collection for legal proceedings. The course includes hands-on training with noise monitoring equipment, case study analysis, and expert instruction from industry professionals, ensuring attendees are prepared to enforce noise by-laws with confidence.

3- Day Land Use Planning Noise Training Course

Effective land use planning requires an in-depth understanding of noise impact assessments, regulatory requirements, and mitigation strategies. Our 3-day in-person or virtual Land Use Planning Noise Training Course is designed for municipal planners, providing them with the technical knowledge needed to address noise considerations in the planning process.

The course covers the MECP’s D-series Guidelines, NPC-300 compliance, zoning and policy integration, noise study requirements and analysis, and mitigation techniques. Through interactive workshops, real-world case studies, and hands-on noise modeling exercises, participants gain practical expertise to evaluate and manage noise-related challenges in land use planning.

3- Day Municipal Noise Prediction Modeling Course (Cadna-A)

Accurate noise prediction modeling is essential for assessing environmental noise impacts and ensuring regulatory compliance. Our 3-day in-person or virtual Municipal Noise Prediction Modeling Course provides municipal staff, consultants, and environmental professionals with hands-on training in Cadna-A; one of the industry’s leading noise modeling software programs.

Participants will learn how to set up models, input source data, analyze noise propagation, and interpret results in accordance with the MECP’s NPC-300 Guideline and municipal noise by-laws. Through interactive exercises, real-world case studies, and expert instruction, attendees will develop the skills necessary to conduct reliable noise impact assessments and support planning decisions.

1- Day Road Prediction and Modeling Course (STAMSON)

STAMSON is the widely used program for predicting noise impacts from transportation sources of noise in Ontario. Our 1-day virtual Road Prediction and Modeling course provides municipal staff, planners, and environmental consultants the ability to learn how to use the STAMSON program effectively by providing a practical approach to transportation noise modeling, giving them the skills required to navigate its features with ease. Participants will learn how to input various parameters into the program accurately with the use of hands-on typical scenarios and examples, while applying Ministry compliance requirements effectively.

By gaining a deeper understanding of the program and its use, participants will confidently be able to review noise reports more efficiently and with greater insight, to verify the accuracy of prediction results and make informed decisions.
